TAIPEI ARTISTS’ VILLAGE STUDIO RESIDENCY 2013

In June 2013, I was selected for a three-month Asialink Artist Residence at Taipei Artists’ Village (TAV), Taiwan. I used this opportunity to research the architecture of Taiwan, to form the basis of an experimental drawing installation.

I documented my residency in my blog 90日在台北90DaysinTaipei at http://90daysintaipei.blogspot.com

BUNDANON STUDIO RESIDENCY 2013

In March 2013, I was privileged to take part in the Artist-in-Residence programme at Bundanon, which is set in the picturesque countryside adjacent to the Shoalhaven River in New South Wales, Australia.

I used this opportunity and the purpose-built studios at Bundanon to develop an experimental drawing project, with the working title “Bower”.

The Bundanon Trust AIR Programme is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian Council for the Arts.

HILL END RESIDENCY 2011

In January 2011, I spent one month as Artist-in-Residence at Murray’s Cottage in the historic village of Hill End in western New South Wales. My research focused on the local buildings in the surrounding countryside, as well as industrial buildings in nearby Bathurst.

Using this inspiration, I developed a body of work with an architectural theme, which evolved into the installation drawing “Block”, a creative collaboration with Sydney artist, Jennifer O’Brien.

My residency was made possible by the generous funding of Bathurst Regional Gallery and Arts NSW.

PARIS DIARY

In 2010, I was selected to participate in a three-month residency at the NAS Storrier Onslow Studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France.

During the residency, I took extensive photographs of the historical and contemporary architecture, as well as keeping an on-line visual diary of the daily sights and sounds of the city.
